Privacy, by architecture.

Because the translation engine runs entirely in your browser, we do not collect, store, log, or process:

• Your translation content — neither the text you type, the PDF files you load, nor the translated results
• Personal information such as your name, email address, or any account data
• Any identifier that links translations to you as an individual

You can verify this yourself: open your browser's developer tools, watch the Network tab, and translate something. No request carrying your text will appear.

To make the service work, your browser stores a few things locally — on your device only:

• Translation models: downloaded once from a public model CDN and cached in your browser's Cache Storage so translation works offline. You can view and delete them any time via the settings (gear) icon in the header.
• An offline copy of the site: a service worker caches the pages and assets you have visited, so langsany.com opens and translates without a connection.
• Preferences: your chosen source/target languages and recently used languages, kept in localStorage.

Clearing your browser's site data removes all of it. Nothing is mirrored on our side.

The first time you translate a language pair, your browser fetches an open-source translation model from a public content delivery network (currently the Hugging Face CDN). That request contains the model's file name — never your text — and is subject to the CDN operator's privacy policy. Once cached, no further downloads are needed.

In some browsers (such as recent versions of Chrome), LangsAny uses the browser's own built-in, on-device translation AI when it is available. In that case translation is handled locally by your browser itself, managed under your browser vendor's privacy terms — your text still never reaches our servers.

We use two analytics tools to understand aggregate traffic:

• Plausible Analytics — a privacy-friendly tool that uses no cookies, collects no personal data, and cannot identify or follow individual visitors across sites.
• Google Analytics (GA4) — measures page views and visit patterns using cookies and device identifiers. This data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy; you can opt out with Google's browser add-on or by blocking analytics in your browser.

One line matters more than the tool list: your translation content is never part of any analytics event. Analytics see that a page was visited — never what you typed, translated, or downloaded. Blocking both tools costs you nothing: every feature on this site works with analytics blocked, because none of it depends on a server.

LangsAny carries no advertising. There are no ad networks, no ad frames, no tracking pixels, and no ad cookies on any page.

This is worth stating plainly because ad code is usually the part of a website that watches you most closely, and it is the one part a privacy policy cannot make safe by promising things: the network's script runs in your browser under its own rules. We avoid this by not loading any advertising scripts.

Like virtually every website, our web server processes standard HTTP request metadata (IP address, user agent, requested page) to deliver pages and protect against abuse. These logs are not linked to any identity, are not used for profiling, and are not retained long-term.

When a page crash, translation failure, or interference from browser extensions occurs, your browser may send a diagnostic error report directly to our self-hosted endpoint (/api/client-error). We do not use any third-party error tracking SDKs (such as Sentry).

Every report uses an explicit whitelist and is strictly limited to technical diagnostic fields:

• What is sent: technical error name, truncated error message (maximum 300 characters), internal script stack frames, route template (such as /[locale]/text-translator, never full URLs or search parameters), language code, software release version, and device runtime capabilities (such as WebGPU support and whether a page-translation tool rearranged the page).
• What is never sent: the text you were translating, files or file names, clipboard contents, translation history, or personal identifiers. Your IP address is never stored or logged in error reports.

LangsAny does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. Since the service requires no account and collects no personal data, there is no mechanism by which a child's personal information could be gathered.

If we change how the service works in a way that affects privacy — for example, adding an optional account system — we will update this page and its “last updated” date before the change takes effect. The core promise will not change: translation happens on your device.
